In July we had our bi-annual company meetup where, among other things, we also created the plan for the next half a year of WooCart development. We decided that our primary focus will be on Staging.

That said, we did a few other things since the last product update.

Automatic Image Optimization

Images are one of the main elements that affect load time. We’ve seen too many times how users forget to smush images, or don’t use the modern image formats that significantly decrease the size while keeping the image quality.

No more!

  • WooCart automatically smushes images on the disk, decreasing the size frequently by more than 50%.
  • We now also automatically serve the most modern image format (WebP) if the visitor’s browser supports it. This additionally decreases the load time.

WooCart’s Image Optimization and CDN loads your images blazingly fast, no matter the size or quality. Best of all – everything is done for you automatically.

Work in Progress

Plugin Metrics

We’ll be adding Load Time to the tab so that there is no question which plugin is slowing down the store.

And, as mentioned before, work has already started on staging. Mockups are finished and the first code is soon to be written.
